For the boater, San Carlos has two world class marinas: Marina San Carlos and Marina Real, with slip to accommodate 700 boats as well as yachts. These marinas are available with paved launch ramps, dry storage facilities, complete marine repair and maintenance services, fuel docks and reasonable rates for slip rental. Both marinas offer accommodations and will help streamline necessary paperwork such as permits and insurance so you can keep your boat in Mexico. The San Carlos area is part of the the national tourism entity that is backing a $1.7 billion plan called Escalera Nautica or Nautical Route, where many specific resorts that count with first class marinas, restaurants, hotels and other services, to build 22 marinas along the Sea of Cortez in an attempt to stimulate tourism and development in the area.
