Most of the best diving can be found on any of the outer islands or along the western shores of Isla Espiritu Santo and Isla Partida. One of the most famous diving sites in La Paz is Los Isolotes, a small inlet off the northen end of Isla Partida. Huge boulders and underwater pinnacles lure schools of hammerhead sharks, sea lions and manta rays. If you want to scuba dive a wreck than explore the wreck of the Salvatierra, located about 1.5 miles south of Isla Espiritu Santo is a 300 foot ferry boat that sunk here in the late 1970's. Most all the best scuba diving in La Paz requires a boat, which can easily be found either by contacting a local company or waliking the malecon.
